Andy Buchanan
Professional ice skater Andy Buchanan who hails from Wabumun, Alberta, Canada has been teamed up with the gorgeous Anthea Turner for this years Dancing on Ice on ITV. This is Andy’s second season for the hit TV program and tonight he and Anthea were in the dance-off but was saved by the judges.
Andy turned professional in 1999 and has played various leading roles for Disney on Ice, including Scar, Simba, Tarzan and Aladdin, with his partner Robin Johnstone as Jasmine. He and Robin met in 2000, while performing in Disney On Ice Presents Three Jungle Adventures
Robin is also one of the professionals on D-on-I and has also survived the first round with her skating partner, rugby hunk Gareth Thomas.
We wish them both good luck for the next round . The programme is shown on ITV on Sunday evening from now until March

New phone
Got a new mobile this week and have movesd to a new network. It’s all very well having all the latest technology but if it doesn’t work whats the point . Apparently a 3G phone will only work from the approproiate mast. Now, I live in a small village about 5 miles from a conurbation but, although I could get reasonable reception on my old phone this one ain’t going to work. I have just waisted 2 hours on the phone and two years contract because nobody told me my phone wouldn’t work. btw I looked up the coverage on-line and it showed medium coverage where I live but apparently this is a another network provider. I give up.

Home Coming 2014
The organisation for Home Coming 2014 is now getting under way with events being organised through out the year all over Scotland. As the Buchanan clan missed out at the 2009 Home Coming from being represented I decided then not to miss out this time. I intend taking a pitch / tent at any large organised event where clans are being represented.
At the moment the re-enactment of the Battle of Bannockburn is the most likely but it is still not certain whether space will be allocated for clans at this event.
I know that it is still some way off and there will be much more detail coming this year but if anybody has any information that they could pass on to me I would be grateful

Burns Night
Don’t forget that Burns Night is on January 25th. Please make sure that you have ready all your Buchanan tartan. Your order will be accepted if the item is in stock and we will dispatch within a day 0r two. However, please bear in mind that stocks are low at present because of the Christmas selling period.

New Wedding garter
Just added to our range is a romantic wedding garter which has a band of Buchanan tartan with lacey edging and a ribbon finshed with a Rosebud and a string of ‘pearls’ costing £12.50 plus p&p. It is shown on the site in Modern Buchanan Tartan but will also be available in Ancient, Weathered and Hunting tartans.
