Welcome to the Buchanan Tartans & Crest on-line store. As a descendant of one of the founding fathers of the Buchanan Society I have always held my name and ancestory in high esteem. The site is directed towards those people with the surname Buchanan, and the Septs associated with that name. However it does not preclude anyone else from puchasing items in Buchanan tartan shown on this site although the Crest should be considered exclusive to Buchanans and their offspring.
Although there are specific requirements for the design of the Buchanan Tartans, colours and fabrics may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. Wherever possible we try to present products which are Made in Scotland or in the United Kingdom.

I am delighted with the reaction of the 'Clan' to the personal nature of the site as it has brought us into contact with Buchanans around the world . The updating of the site is now more or less complete with a much improved 'behind the scenes, admin section; I trust this will make ordering easier for customers and processing more organized. The blogg should go live soon and you will then have the oportunity to add personal notes and photos to the site to the site; hopefully lots of Buchanan tartan.
The newly organised Clan Buchanan Society in Australia is gaining new membership and their web site can be found on our link page. I was recently in touch with Stephen Buchanan in Sidney regarding my great, great aunt who was the missionery Florence Griffiths Buchanan (1861-1913).
